Washington Prime Group team members volunteer at the Columbus Dream Center

Nine members of WPG’s HR Department volunteered at the Columbus Dream Center in August, preparing and serving breakfast to nearly 100 people. The Columbus Dream Center supports underserved individuals and families through meals and resources, educational support and mentorship for students, and consistent community outreach throughout Columbus and Central Ohio. The Columbus Dream Center serves three meals per day to individuals experiencing homelessness, along with providing laundry and shower facilities.

Team WPG celebrates 11th year of Pelotonia fundraising and participation

After celebrating two major milestones last year: 10 years riding and $500,000 in funds raised, Team WPG was eager to start fundraising again in 2022. Coming off of the 14th annual ride weekend, Aug. 5-7, Team WPG is proud to have raised more than $18,000 so far this year in support of cancer research. Members of the 2022 Team WPG include Steve Gerber, Nikki Smith, Stephen Hardy, Ron Clegg, Debbie Weakley, Kimberly Flaherty, Kimberly Ferracane-Gonzalez, Walter Meeks, Jennifer Moretti, Stephanie Interliggi, Emilie DiFranco, and Jenna Mink.

Seventeen WPG colleagues from the company’s Accounting and Finance team came together and donated their time this summer by volunteering at The Columbus Ronald McDonald House. Adjacent to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House gives the families of hospitalized children a home-away-from-home. The Columbus Ronald McDonald House provides comfortable bedrooms, laundry facilities, meals, and connection with other families, and additional support services for more than 4,500 families each year.

Mall walking is completely reinvented at Southern Park Mall in Boardman, Ohio, thanks to a new partnership with Bios Wellness Urgent Care. According to the CDC, malls are the second most popular places to walk, right behind neighborhoods, and Southern Park Mall provides an enjoyable, scenic place to stroll while socializing with friends and neighbors.

Clay Terrace tenant raises money to support local nonprofits, brain cancer research

Kelli McLaughlin founded Clothes With a Cause in Carmel, Indiana, almost five years ago with her primary mission to help others. Clothes With a Cause is a boutique with a location at Clay Terrace featuring trendy clothes where 100% of the proceeds of each item purchased benefit local nonprofits. So far in 2022, Clothes With a Cause has donated to A Kid Again Indiana Chapter, Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Paws & Think, and Veterans Support Council of Marion County.

Longview Mall steps up to help community during water shortage

In April, the Longview, Texas, community experienced a break in a 30-inch water main, causing low water pressure and a boil-water notice to be issued for all customers. The break in the water main took days to repair and left the community of Longview relying on water distribution centers for safe drinking water. With its large parking lots, Longview Mall became the perfect place to distribute water.

Currently, blood supply levels are the lowest they have been in more than a decade, and dangerously low blood supply levels put patient care at risk.
