Washington Prime Group team members volunteer at Ronald McDonald House

Seventeen WPG colleagues from the company’s Accounting and Finance team came together and donated their time this summer by volunteering at The Columbus Ronald McDonald House. Adjacent to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House gives the families of hospitalized children a home-away-from-home. The Columbus Ronald McDonald House provides comfortable bedrooms, laundry facilities, meals, and connection with other families, and additional support services for more than 4,500 families each year.

During their time at the Ronald McDonald House, WPG volunteers prepared lunch for 150 families currently living at the House. This volunteer experience demonstrates our commitment to making an impact by enhancing the lives of our local communities, and it also gave the team a chance to connect with one another.

Corina Ramos, Manager, Accounts Payable at WPG, organized and led the group. Ramos has a very special connection with the Ronald McDonald House. Once a resident there, Ramos knows firsthand the positive impact that the facility provides to families when navigating such a challenging time.

“One of Washington Prime Group’s values is giving back to our local communities,” said Lisa Indest, Chief Accounting Officer. “I’m so proud of this team for taking the initiative to give back together. While at the Ronald McDonald House, they were able to meet with the families living there and see firsthand the impact they made.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities relies on volunteers and donations to give back to those who need it most. Ramos plans to organize another volunteer opportunity soon.
