WPG gives back to local shelters in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, wpg’s corporate offices in Columbus and Indianapolis, as well as nearly 50 wpg properties across the country, partnered with local shelters to help donate needed items that support victims of domestic violence.

Domestic violence is prevalent in every community and affects all people regardless of age or socio-economic status. The devasting consequences of domestic violence can impact individuals for a lifetime and families for generations. wpg is proud to support organizations across the country that are working to interrupt the cycle of domestic violence by responding to those in need, educating their communities and advocating for change.

wpg team members at the Columbus corporate office packed snack kits and beauty kits featuring top-requested personal care items for Choices, the only domestic violence focused shelter in Franklin County, Ohio, which provides a safe haven and a 24-hour crisis and information hotline, in addition to counseling services and support groups, among other services, to victims of domestic abuse.

Team members at the wpg Indianapolis corporate office partnered with The Julian Center, with whom wpg has a long-standing relationship, to provide much-needed sheets, towels and washcloths. The Julian Center helps victims of domestic abuse become survivors through supportive services, education and cooperative partnerships.

Nearly 50 teams from wpg properties across the country also gathered on October 27 via zoom to pack 1,600 kits total. The teams partnered with their local shelters in advance to learn their most-needed items, and delivered the completed kits to make a difference right in their own community.

Many thanks to all of the wpg colleagues who lent their time and support to this cause!
