WPG Colleagues make blankets for children in foster care

During wpg’s recent Connection Week, a new, internal conference for corporate colleagues to meet, learn and grow, attendees were honored to participate in a volunteer event for children in the local foster care system. The company welcomed Jessica Rudolph, CEO and Founder of My Very Own Blanket, who talked about her organization’s important mission.

My Very Own Blanket is dedicated to warming the heart of every child in the foster care system by providing a blanket that is their very own, one that can provide a feeling of comfort and security even when they move from one home to another. Each blanket is personalized with the child’s name and signed by the maker. For children who have experienced upheaval and disruption in their lives, the simple act of knowing that someone personally made this special item that is theirs to keep means so much.

With Jessica’s instruction and supplies sponsored by wpg, colleagues created 240 handmade, personalized gifts for children in foster care. wpg colleagues reported the activity as one of the highlights of Connection Week.
