wpg’s Inclusion and Engagement Committee recently held their first internal LinkedIn Learning Roundtable Discussion of 2025. Colleagues completed the course, Speaking up for Yourself and Underrepresented Groups, then discussed the topic as a group. The course taught colleagues how to:
- address challenges when advocating for yourself
- speak confidently
- showcase your value at work
- create an inclusive speaking environment
- help others speak up
- advocate for underrepresented team members by asking questions that prompt them to share their thoughts
- strengthen your allyship and boost your self-confidence to effectively support others in the workplace
The group discussion covered questions like:
- Can you describe a situation where self-advocacy helped you achieve a positive outcome in the workplace?
- How can you balance self-advocacy and respecting other’s cultural norms?
- How can you best amplify others’ voices without speaking over them or for them?
The discussion, which was held as part of wpg’s Growth Gateway individualized professional development program, was a great opportunity for wpg colleagues to learn and grow together. The I&E Committee looks forward to another LinkedIn Learning Roundtable Discussion next quarter.
