Tampa’s WestShore Plaza Hosts Holiday 5K Supporting Pediatric Cancer Awareness

The 2nd annual Ugly Sweater Holiday Run 5K at WestShore Plaza is becoming a festive holiday tradition supporting a worthy cause and creating enjoyable memories for the community. Proceeds from the race benefitted Finn’s Fighters, an organization that raises awareness of pediatric cancer and supports families facing medical crises in the Tampa Bay area

On Dec. 5, 2021, participants ran, walked and strolled the 5K course wearing their most festive holiday gear. The course encompassed WestShore Plaza. A post-race party with food and drinks followed at Irish31, and participants received finisher medals to celebrate their hard work. An award was even given to acknowledge the best sweater of the bunch.

Community members who wanted to participate in the worthy cause but weren’t able to attend in person were able to run the race virtually as well.

More than $4,800 was raised for Finn’s Fighters in 2021, thanks to the support of community members and organizations this year. The Ugly Sweater Holiday 5K was a fun and festive way for Tampa residents to kick off the holiday season!
