Kelli McLaughlin founded Clothes With a Cause in Carmel, Indiana, almost five years ago with her primary mission to help others. Clothes With a Cause is a boutique with a location at Clay Terrace featuring trendy clothes where 100% of the proceeds of each item purchased benefit local nonprofits. So far in 2022, Clothes With a Cause has donated to A Kid Again Indiana Chapter, Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Paws & Think, and Veterans Support Council of Marion County.
When McLaughlin received a life-changing diagnosis in September 2021 of grade 4 glioblastoma, she established Kelli’s Kegs N’ Eggs 5K. With brain cancer representing an underfunded type of research, McLaughlin believes raising money in her community is one of the most impactful ways to change that. In April 2022, the first annual Kelli’s Kegs N’ Eggs 5K took place at Bier Brewery.
This year Kelli’s Kegs N’ Eggs 5K raised an incredible $50,000. McLaughlin said half of the proceeds will go to glioblastoma research. The other half will go toward a scholarship fund at Lake City Bank for families that have someone newly diagnosed with the disease.
